Of all the La Roux remixes that have come out following her album this year, this has got to be the best. Alex Metric working his usual magic on a remix, adding a different slant and heading the song up to hopefully be played out on the dance and disco scene by steering away from his usual electro feel.

Quicksand is being re-released at the end of the month, with this remix and one from Boy-8 Bit and Mad Decent. Treats eh.

Earlier this year Lauren Flax featured Sia on her huge tune You’ve Changed, and Sia liked it so much that she decided to do her own version for her new album, and leak it all over Twitter. I just can’t work out which version I like better..

One Life Stand - Hot Chip’s new album will drop in February almost two years from the last brilliant album Made in the Dark. To say that expectations are high would be an understatement, my favourite of the three albums released to date had a perfect blend of dance and electronic bleeps and is still my most listened to album.

With a tour starting in February right around the release date (Feb 8th) of their new album, we’re all crossing fingers that Hot Chip will have outdone themselves yet again.

Hopefully rumours aren’t true, and bassist Baria from the xx hasn’t left the band due to exhaustion from the massive commitments required as a new band on tour.. I’m sure they’d find a replacement but come on, already?! Let’s hope not anyway, and console ourselves (and them) with two really hot new remixes from Death to the Throne and Rory Phillips.

Wolverhampton born Amy Forrester is the latest acoustic hit to meet the South East. Self described as the love child of Nick Cave and a happy PJ Harvey, the girl aims high, and totally succeeds.

Unlike many acoustic style performers, AMiTY combines vocals with a guitar, a snare drum, and a sampler and what ever else is lying around to create music that makes you want to know everything about her and listen to her unbashful lyrics. It’s music that would make many female acoustic artists jealous due to its creative and exciting new edge.
